Glittering baubles, shining children’s eyes and a touch of magic: once again this year, Christmas at a&o will be especially heart-warming – thanks to the joint project of a&o Hostels and SOS Children’s Villages.
The “a&o Christmas Wish Tree campaign” is a strong sign of community and help for disadvantaged children. As last year, the a&o Christmas wish trees will once again sparkle this December in the lobbies of the a&o Hostels.
The Christmas trees are not only decorative – they are also full of wishes from children at SOS Children’s Villages.
The wishes? They enable the children to take part in three entirely donation-funded projects run by SOS Children’s Villages: the music project “Haste Töne”, the art workshop “Farbenspinnen” and the gardening project “Grüne Daumen”.
Guests and staff at a&o Hostels can simply pick the wish cards with the individual children’s wishes from the tree and, by scanning the QR code printed on the cards, easily help to make the wish come true – bringing joy directly.
“Christmas is the time when we should remember to help others. With this campaign, we want to reduce the distance between those who help and disadvantaged children, and show how easy it can be to make a difference,” says a&o educare project manager Ralf Olk.
Together with SOS Children’s Villages, a&o educare e. V. helps to make sure that no wish goes unfulfilled – and that no child feels forgotten.
