The ESD elements in a&o Hostels
A wide range of concrete projects promote sustainable and charitable work. Above all, this includes “Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)” for guests and staff at a&o.
In a playful way and without “wagging fingers”, "stairwell comics", for example, illustrate diversity at a&o. The lift graphics, designed by comic artist Shenja Schittkowski, and the stair stickers encourage people to take the stairs instead of the lift – saving energy and promoting health through more exercise.
The “wheels of knowledge” interactively show the impact of different foods on the carbon footprint, and the "ESG flaps" reveal more in-depth information about a&o’s ESG strategy under their wooden flaps.
In addition, information about a&o’s many sustainability activities is provided in the hostels themselves. The “Goal Flaps” show the respective focus of a&o’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
